The Multimedia Quality of Experience Research Lab (MUEXlab) is a research lab within the NetMedia group, Department of Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. The lab conducts multidisciplinary research in the areas of User Experience (UX) and Quality of Experience (QoE) modeling and management of advanced multimedia services, such as multiparty audiovisual communications, video streaming, virtual/augmented reality, and networked games.
A new contract was signed with the Croatian Science Foundation to fund the 4-year long project Modeling and Monitoring QoE for Immersive 5G-Enabled Multimedia Services (Q-MERSIVE)! The project will combine complementary expertise from engineering and networking (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Univ. of Zagreb; Ericsson Nikola Tesla in Zagreb; Faculty of Traffic and Communications in Sarajevo), psychology (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Univ. of Zagreb), and interface/system design and usability (Faculty of Graphic Arts, Univ. of Zagreb), to achieve the following overall project goals:
- Propose novel QoE models for immersive 5G-enabled networked AR/VR applications and mobile multi-party conversational video communication services,
- Propose novel solutions for in-network monitoring of QoE and various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), relying on machine learning-based techniques, as well as analytical approaches as applicable.
The project will kick-off in January 2020!
